At Ovae, our story has always been about more than creating beautiful accessories. It’s about making them in a way that honours the people who craft them, the traditions they keep alive, and the planet we all share.

From the very first sketch to the final stitch, every decision is guided by the same values that shaped Ovae’s beginnings - intention, respect, and care.

From the very beginning, social responsibility has been at the heart of every decision we make. We design slowly, produce intentionally, and work only with people we know and trust. Every piece we create is part of a bigger story - one that values people, protects tradition, and treads lightly on the planet.

We believe we have a moral obligation to create products that do no harm - to the people who make them, the planet we all share, or the customers who carry them. Our guiding principles shape every part of our work, from design and sourcing to production and packaging.

1. Know the people and the process
We trace our materials and maintain close relationships with our artisans, visiting regularly to see the same smiling faces year after year.

2. Prioritise fair, safe, and respectful workplaces
We work only with suppliers who value fair pay, safe environments, and cultural respect.

3. Build relationships on trust
We see our suppliers as partners, not just producers, and encourage honest conversations about challenges and solutions.

4. Choose slow fashion over fast trends
We design for longevity - pieces to be worn, loved, and repaired, not replaced.

5. Honour traditional craft
We preserve and celebrate techniques such as weaving, hand-block printing, and embroidery, supporting communities that rely on these skills for their livelihood and heritage.

6. Keep improving
We continually review our processes to find ways to better support people, the planet, and the products we create.

7. Minimise waste with sustainable packaging
We use compostable mailers, biodegradable tape, unbleached cardboard, and responsibly sourced paper products. Every choice we make in packaging is designed to reduce our footprint.
