In our last post we mentioned that according to numerology, 2016 was all about endings. And we were left feeling a little depressed… BUT according to numerology, 2017 sees the cycle start again, and therefore this year is all about beginnings. One door closes and another opens. Yay! Here are a few things we are excited about:
Oh 2016, what a year! Nearly every person I speak to has said something along the lines of “I can’t wait for this year to be over” or “Worst. Year. Ever!”
There may be an explanation... In Numerology, years run in nine-year cycles, and each year has a number that indicates what can be expected. In 2016 the number is 9, which represents the end of a cycle. Therefore 2016 is all about endings. Hooray! Because while at Caravana we had a pretty good one, there are certainly a few things we are happy to see the back of, including:
Receiving gifts at Christmas is never quite as good as when you were a kid. As an adult you typically get a Bunning’s voucher or a bottle of wine, and while these things are essential (especially the wine…), they aren’t the most exciting things in the world.
That is why this year the adults in my family will be playing Stealing Santa.
Shopping at markets is my favourite way to shop. I love wandering the stalls in the open air, the smells – a blend of eucalyptus and hot jam donuts – and the relaxed atmosphere. I always get a little excitement in my stomach when I walk in. What unique treasures will I find? What inspiration will find me? What delicious food will I eat!?
I love this time of year – the weather, the parties, the food – but it can also be stressful. With less than a fortnight to Christmas, two headlines in today’s papers caught my eye:
‘Car park costs just another expense for Australian shoppers this Christmas’ and ‘Six tips for surviving Christmas shopping in the city.’
It is estimated that between now and Christmas 4,400,000 of us will be hitting the city and suburban shopping centres. However, it will actually be 4,399,999. Why? Because… I will not be there. My shopping is done. I did it all online!
We were super chuffed when our favourite parcel carriers 'Australia Post' got in touch and wanted to feature our small Australian business across their social media platforms for the month of August! Watch a copy of our 30 second feature below:
